Uncommon Yarrow has been open since July 2, 2020 by appointment only. Being open in the midst of an ongoing pandemic requires new policies and protocols. It is my goal to reduce the risk of getting touch therapy, but there is still a risk. Currently (as of this update: June 2, 2021) we are experiencing a decrease in infections across Oregon including Multnomah County and vaccinations are well underway. I am fully vaccinated. I will continue to try and reduce the risk to the best of my ability.
I will maintain a 45-60 minute gap in between appointments so that I will have adequate time for a thorough cleaning and also allow the room to fully air out. There are two air filters in the treatment room.
Online booking is open and appointments are booking out 8-12 weeks. Occasionally I can also book individually so if you do not see an appointment time you would like please email me. That being said, with appointments booking out well in advance, if you know you would like to come in regularly, I encourage booking out by at least two appointments to ensure you have the spot you want on the schedule. Cancellations and rescheduling also happen so spots will sometimes pop up on the schedule that were not there previously. If you wish to be added to my cancellation list email me.
Here is what to expect for your appointment:
If you are a new client, you will receive an intake form via email or you can access both intake forms on the Bookings Page of the website. This needs to be completed prior to your appointment time.
The day before your scheduled appointment, included in your reminder email, will be a link to a Covid-19 screening form (https://www.uncommonyarrow.com/covid-19-health-form) to make sure your appointment will move forward. I need the responses to these questions by the morning of your scheduled appointment. Please respond as honestly and fully as you can. (These questions will include):
Have you had a fever?
Have you had a new or worsening cough?
Have you had shortness of breath?
Have you been in close contact with anyone with these symptoms or anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
Are you experiencing any nausea, diarrhea, loss of smell or taste?
Have you been sick in the last 2 weeks?
You should also cancel if you have traveled in the last 2 weeks on a plane. *If you know you will be traveling on a plane please book your appointment for at least 2 weeks after your air travel.
You will wait outside or in your car until I come downstairs to let you in. Text me when you arrive and I will text you when I am ready for you to come to the door and then I will let you inside.
All shoes will be taken off downstairs before entering the main studio space. I have repainted the entire entry and stairs so everything is fresh and clean. Banisters and doorknobs will be cleaned in between each client.
Please wear a mask before and after your appointment. I will continue to wear a mask during all treatments, but clients may remove masks once in the treatment room. If you do not have a mask I will have one available for you. If you are fully vaccinated you no longer need to wear a mask.
If you are a new client I will take your temperature before you enter the main studio space. I have an infrared thermometer. If your temperature is over 100.3 degrees we will have to reschedule your appointment and any cancellation fees will be waived.
If you have any Covid-19 symptoms (or if I have any Covid-19 symptoms) we will reschedule your appointment and there will be no cancellation fee.
If you have any cold or flu symptoms we will reschedule your appointment and there will be no cancellation fee. YOU SHOULD ONLY COME IN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU ARE FEELING SYMPTOM FREE OF ANY AND ALL INFECTIOUS ILLNESS(ES).
There will also be hand sanitizer available for you throughout the space.
I ask that you bring your own water to your appointment.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to spend as much time after appointments with you as I usually do because of the additional cleaning and amount of work necessary to keep the space as safe as possible. If you need additional time for questions and product purchasing please let me know when you schedule so that I can allot enough time for you.
Only I will be touching retail products. When you are purchasing I will get them for you.
Windows will be open as much as possible to allow air flow and breeze. This may mean more outside noises.
I have added four new air filtration units to the space. Two for the treatment room and two for the main areas.
All cancellation fees are waived if you are sick and call me ahead of time. If there is a no call, no show, I will have to charge you for your appointment.
Please note that the regular cancellation window is 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice you will be charged for your appointment.
You can pay in three ways: online when booking, in person after your appointment, or I can send you an invoice after your appointment. All work well.
Finally, I am no longer doing porch drop delivery. I will have a product pick-up area downstairs though! I have a new key-less entry set up and for those in Portland you can still order products in the online shop and pick-up for no delivery fee. Feel free to email me if you have any product questions.

I know this is a lot! I am really looking forward to seeing you all and making it as safe and therapeutic as possible. Your safety, my safety, and the safety of our community are top of my mind.
