Re-Opening Uncommon Yarrow: New Policies and Protocols

As some of you probably already know, Multnomah County officially settled on the re-opening date of June 19 for Phase 1. While Uncommon Yarrow is included in the Phase 1 re-opening, I did not choose to open immediately. I am currently preparing for re-opening in July. Re-opening in the midst of an ongoing pandemic (that is still very much

happening) will require new policies and protocols. It is my goal to reduce the risk of getting touch therapy, but there is still a risk.

I am only going to be seeing 1 or 2 clients per day for the foreseeable future and the online booking is limited. I am also booking individually so if you do not see an appointment time you would like please email me.  Appointments will have a 60 minute gap so that I can clean thoroughly and fully.

Here is what will be new upon your next appointment:

  • The night before your scheduled appointment I will call you to ask you a list of screening questions to make sure your appointment will move forward. I can also email you these questions if you prefer, but I need the responses the evening prior to your scheduled appointment.

  • You will wait outside or in your car until I come downstairs to let you in. Text me when you arrive and I will text you when I am ready for you to come to the door and then I will let you inside.

  • All shoes will be taken off downstairs before entering the main studio space. I have repainted the entire entry and stairs so everything is fresh and clean. Banisters and doorknobs will be cleaned in between each client.

  • Please wear a mask before and after your appointment. I will also be wearing a mask. For facials and facial massage, I will wear a face shield and a mask since clients will be removing their masks for this service. If you do not have a mask I will have one available for you for a $1 fee.

  • I will take your temperature before you enter the main studio space. I have an infrared thermometer. If your temperature is over 100.3 degrees we will have to reschedule your appointment and any cancellation fees will be waived.

  • If you have any Covid-19 symptoms (or if I have any Covid-19 symptoms) we will reschedule your appointment and there will be no cancellation fee.

  • Once upstairs, I will have you wash your hands immediately.

  • There will also be hand sanitizer available for you throughout the space.

  • I ask that you bring your own water to your appointment.

  • Unfortunately, I will not be able to spend as much time after appointments with you as I usually do because of the additional cleaning and amount of work necessary to keep the space as safe as possible. If you need additional time for questions and product purchasing please let me know when you schedule so that I can allot enough time for you.

  • Only I will be touching retail products. When you are purchasing I will get them for you.

  • Windows will be open as much as possible to allow air flow and breeze. This may mean more outside noises.

  • I have added two new air filtration units to the space. One for the treatment room and one for the main area.

  • All cancellation fees are waived if you are sick and call me ahead of time. If there is a no call, no show, I will have to charge you for your appointment.

  • I will not be handling your credit cards or cash. You can either pay online when booking or I will send you an invoice after your appointment. Either works well.

  • Finally, I will be suspending porch drop delivery starting in July as I will be working in my space again. I will have a product pick-up area downstairs though! I have a new key-less entry set up and for those in Portland you can still order products in the online shop and pick-up for no delivery fee.

If you have any questions at all please email me. I will be sending more emails than usual after your appointment is booked to make sure we are confirmed and all policies are up to date.

I know this is a lot! I am really looking forward to seeing you all again and making it as safe and therapeutic as possible. Your safety, my safety, and the safety of our community are top of my mind. Covid-19 is still an ongoing issue, infection rates are rising and new information is still coming out. I want you to feel comfortable coming in and I completely understand if you are not ready. Thank you for reading this all the way through and continue to reach out with any questions, concerns, or just to say hi.

Warmly,

Rebecca
