Tulsi Hydrosol is fresh distilled from from Certified Organic Ocimum tenuiflorum L. syn Ocimum sanctum on a farm in Northern Washington.

Tulsi (Holy Basil) hydrosol offers antioxidant, adaptogenic properties—helping to purify and awaken the skin, the respiratory passages, and the psyche. Tulsi balances all skin types but works particularly well for congested, blemish-prone, or dull skin. Like all high-quality hydrosols, it balances the pH of the skin beautifully and can supplement or replace your toner in the second step of your skincare routine. This hydrosol is incredibly protective and its aroma is uplifting and centering. Energetically it helps to ground, focus, and enliven.

This hydrosol is distilled in Copper Alembic Stills which remove the yeast and sulphur that can make hydrosols smell badly. Copper is known for its antimicrobial properties and may have some preservative effect on the hydrosols. Hydrosols distilled in copper have a sweeter aroma and are useable immediately.

*It is normal for the Tulsi Hydrosol to have some orange in it. What you are seeing is copper that has started to precipitate out of solution. It starts out not very orange and usually gets a little more orange over time. Some batches are different too and some will not have any orange at all. It is a bit of a mystery, but it is totally safe and is not mold or any other contaminate/growth. This hydrosol is distilled in copper and the low ph of hydrosols dissolve some copper from the stills as part of the process and some hydrosols will occasionally release the copper over time. Tulsi will also sometimes get little sparkle flakes in it. This is a Di-Eugenol crystal that forms over time and under various circumstances that the distillers have yet to totally figure out. Tulsi is a very complex and vibrant hydrosol and the things you are seeing are proof positive of it!
